Fly fish brushy creek, go to kalahari, brewery tour bluebonnet, disc golf old settlers or cat hollow, sit in traffic on 620. The possibilities are endless.

Kalahari is just an African themed hotel resort and conference center...is it really all that much to do other than a water park indoors?

Go see the "round rock". Donuts! Eat at Louisiana Longhorn or Palermo Pasta House.

Drive down to Pflugerville and eat at Brotherton's Black Iron BBQ. Do not eat at any of the BBQ joints in Round Rock.
Get dirty East Side San Antonio enchiladas at Recuerdos.

Are those enchiladas new to the menu?

No. Wadd has promoted the restaurant enchiladas before. I've had them several times and they are good. It is a hole in the wall place with 6-7 tables. Family owned. I get curbside from them every couple of weeks.

La Margarita on I-35 is also a good local Mexican place.

No. I added the 'Dirty East Side SA" moniker, because they remind me of those enchiladas I could get in some dive Mexican food with abuela doing the cooking.

I don't know, you asked for stuff to do. My kids seemed to like it but they went with friends.

Kids? Staying overnight? Looking for outdoor stuff? You're vagueness isn't helping

Not a bad group of t-sips. The owners nephew is Jeff Ontiveros, played baseball at tu.

Thanks, I've been there but never saw those on the menu. Now I understand! Live in G'town so typically go to Dos Salas's for the extra roaches. Yum!

Replies have been great, thanks.

I was just trying to fit in and be sarcastic...you know for the overall TexAgs message board etiquette.

There's a Salt Lick BBQ next to the Dell Diamond.

Or course if you are going during baseball season there's the Round Rock Express in the Dell D.

Also the Round Rock Ampi theater (basically Nutty Brown relocated) near Ikea.

For the love of all that is holy, do not ever recommend salt lick for barbecue in the Round Rock area. There are literally 10 places I can aim off the top of my head that are better barbecue any day of the week and twice on Saturdays...

So why didn't you name them? Seems rude to say you could do it so easily and then not offer it to the OP.

Pretty sure wadd was being sarcastic. RR is the worst destination for good Que in central Texas. Head south.

As for here Rudy's is better than SL. tia

Wadd why you replying to me? I didn't ask. But your list confirms my post to go south. Every place you mention is not in RR.

Just don't ingest any of Brushy Creek. That is some nasty water.

I moved down from Fort Hood to Round Rock almost 2 years ago!

Incoming list for a family with elementary kids.

Khalihari is freaking awesome for adults and kids. You will just have to get over yourself if you think otherwise. Tons of water slides for both adults and kids. I recommend going down the tallest slide they have which is the big purple one where you enter the pod at the top. Your kids will think you are the bravest person in the world and it is a hide adrenaline rush! I had a blast with my kids in the Tom Foolery arcade as well. Have fun!

Round Rock Donuts is amazing. Also there is an awesome little courtyard between the art center and slap box pizza downtown as well.

Brand new giant Public Library opens up in a couple weeks. My kiddos love the library.

Wonderspaces in North Austin was pretty neat. Cool interactive art exhibit.

If you take Sam Bass west past (and north of) 1431, there is a huge county park on the right. For little ones, it has the Cedar Rock Rail Road.
