Sad to hear as I used to listen to that show all the time but man he sure went all Dave Letterman once they gave him a run on the AM. In short, Trump broke him in a bad way.
Moved here in 2001 and basically found the show right away. Love 'em or hate 'em it's more of "old Austin" dying off.Complete Idiot said:
I moved to Austin after graduating from A&M in 1995, and have been here ever since. Never had a commute longer than 20 minutes, and went through phases were I was all music, or all sports talk radio, but at various times over the past 26 years I would tune in to KLBJ for the morning drive. Like the poster above it was always 10-20 minutes snippets at most, and I generally found them engaging and entertaining - agreed with some of the criticisms of Dudley but generally something entertaining to listen to. So Dale and Bob were like Austin landmarks to me just based on how long they've been around, and longevity isn't easy in any area of the entertainment field. I liked Matt's addition and he must have been there 15+ years.

Always listened on my 20 minute commute into the office (pre-COVID work from home) and 20 minutes was usually enough. He was always "interesting" and did have some really funny stories but I liked the group dynamic of the show more than just Dale. A few years ago I followed him on Twitter for a while but if you thought he was out there on the radio you ain't seen nothin. Quickly ended that "follow".
Bob seems like a good dude but when he had to host without Dale it was rough. Been the #2 for so long must be hard to move to #1. Will be interesting what they do in that time slot. Austin radio bites for the most part. I grew up on Stevens and Pruitt in Houston on KLOL so loved these types of radio jocks. Now you couldn't get away with anything those guys did back then.
Ha! Didn't but I remember those! Also remember the Uncle Waldo skits and something about a "point spread" where they measured the distance between a lady's nipples. Juvenile but hilarious at the time.AgOutsideAustin said:chet98 said:

Matt is returning to host with Bob and Chuy. Hopefully Dale starts a podcast at some point - I think he is genuine and likable - been a fan for many years.
Dale often talked about how the new ownership was far right wing and I'm sure he had a big contract which sealed the deal. His recent mental health issues I'm sure didn't help. I've bet both Dale and Bob and they are both really nice family guys.
I recently discovered Jeff Ward has a daily podcast.
I'd be surprised if Chuy stuck around. His schtick only worked with Dale in my opinion. He's just too much of an intellectual light weight to stay with Matt.Complete Idiot said:
Tuned in this morning and heard Matt Bearden on the team, sounds like Matt, Bob, and Chuy all there - for now anyway.
I just looked at the KLBJ website and was wrong - it's Matt, Bob, and "B-doe" from 6 to 10 AM then Chuy has his own thing 10-3PM.96ags said:I'd be surprised if Chuy stuck around. His mental health issues aren't recent. He's been a flaming liberal forever.Husky Boy Jr. said:
