Glad we got in one last visit for Father's Day this year.

Crazy. I have eaten there before. Labor cost casualty? Changing tastes? The rent is too damn high?

I've been there once or twice, but know a few people who eat there religiously. They'll be very sad.

We live in the neighborhood and eat there fairly frequently. I told my 8 year old daughter it was closing and she was in tears. One of her and my favorite neighborhood places to eat. I remember going there as a kid and it's always a good memory of family meals with my grandparents. She's the 4th generation of our family that grew up eating there and a few other old Austin restaurants. Sad to see them go.

Tried to go go one last time earlier tonight but the line was out the door. Glad folks are patronizing it and sending them off with a bang.

Yeah I tried to go yesterday and it was PACKED - line out the door must have been an hour wait or more! Unfortunately I had gallbladder surgery today and won't be able to go now before they close.

Will miss it for sure. The south location is way far for me. I'll need to check out the Georgetown location.

My guess is the dirt it's on is just too valuable to defer cashing out any longer. Seen many owners making that decision the last ten years.

Grew up eating there. Sad to hear even though I don't live in the area anymore. Place sure is changing.

Y'all need to check out Springhill Catfish. My favorite spot

I've lived in Pflugerville for 11 years and only have been there one time. I think my wife said she didnt like it so thats why we havent been back.

Went to the one in Georgetown. First time visiting in 30 years. Was disappointed. For the price only get a few pieces of catfish. Used to get a lot more. Lots of places to get catfish at a better bargain.

Catfish Parlour, Springhill - both are very good

I also like Cherry Creek Catfish on Manchaca.

I miss Mr. Catfish, which used to be on Springdale Rd back in the late 90s / early 00s. My favorite catfish anywhere.

Sad. Ate there in the 70s and 80s.

Second Cherry Creek Catfish, their a great Vue and their jalapeno tartar sauce is great.

Spoken to the owners son at a catering Friday. Said the building was falling down a d too costly to fix. Plus the tax burden was outrageous.

Sounds about like what everyone expected.

Sad to see it go even if we didn't eat there very often. Always enjoyed their sign, which left with them. Hopefully it gets turned into something equally as useful for the area.

I ran into owner at local BBQ joint last week one day. He was fired up grabbing brisket and buns to go, for his fishing lunch on the boat the next day. He said he was really looking forward to lots of fishing time now. His grin was HUGE!

As an FYI if there are any sign collectors here they are auctioning off the catfish parlor stuff. It's an online auction ending jan 11th I think.
