One of my clients (a well established commercial electrician here in Austin) is in need of all levels of electricians. But like everyone else, they are struggling to find applicants despite sign-on bonuses and paid education/training. If you have been in this boat, where are you finding your employees these days? They currently list on LinkedIn, Indeed, Facebook, Craigslist. Where else should I get them posting? Are you familiar with any Austin specific sites? Thanks for any help!

I've gotten a couple on Indeed. Also had my 68 year old mother ask all her friends if they had kids or grandkids looking for a career. Also got one from church since I used to help with our youth group so I knew which kids I'd be willing to work with. If you have any church ties you might be able to ask a youth leader if he knows of any kids that want to work.

It's tough these days no doubt.

My husband is running into the same problem in the Austin area as well. They have an ad on indeed, craigslist, signs on their trucks and finally hired a staffing company and have yet to hire a single person. HQ wont let them bump the hourly wage to meet Austin standards compared to what they can get away with in Houston and Dallas, so they get NO applications. Or just the people making a phone call or applying to do it for the unemployment requirements.
