i cant take any of these things seriously, when they claim to be 'Autonomous' and immediately start asking for funds, food, free services, etc.
If you seriously want to be autonomous society, go buy 10 acres in the middle of nowhere, and set up your own Shangri-la. But no one would notice them if they did that. So it's apparent this is just misguided or mentally ill people, desperate for attention.

Which is funny, because I saw a post yesterday with them listing needs (even laundry service), and asking people to help meet the needs, or donate toward them.

I have! It's awful.
But I don't live within 2 miles of that and it doesn't bother me at all. So why go live out in some sleepy suburb just Bc you're afraid of a few blocks of a large city? Not for me.
People live in suburbs for kids.
I wish the kids around us lived in the suburbs.
Poster asked why and I gave him the answer. Parents want a safe place to live and good schools. Almost every client I've had moving to the suburbs mentioned this.
If your neighbors want AISD so be it. I actually chose RR over AISD for that very reason. And since all three of my children got in, and graduated, from A&M going to RRISD I think we madE the right choice

Not sure why you're so defensive. I just don't care for screaming (for no obvious reason) children. My post wasn't a dig at Suburbia.

I prefer to not be around screaming children as well. I've also got no problem send my kid to AISD
I work off north loop and will agree most of the city is fine, but it's definitely worse than it was even 5 years ago in more places.
