I just picture some idiots house with a room filled with Charmin.

It ain't hoarding. People have their whole family at home all day every day for 6 weeks. Lots of homes are using 4x 5x normal.

I didn't come here for logical explanations I came here to rant.

Also that math doesn't make sense unless you have a family of 20.

Honestly with a family of 4 I don't notice a huge difference in what we use and have been using a little less trying to hold out until a restock.

they are idiots. in fact, Costco banned returns because people are morons.

Quite a bit is hoarding but also increased use is a factor. Two wage earners that work at an employer site uses how much daily not in the home? Throw in two kids in schools for 8-9 hours now home all day.

Then you factor the commercial producers do not make TP for homes and cannot just completely change their process or manufacturing. I'd imagine there are tons of commercial stuff sitting around in warehouses right now

Yup, go buy some office supply single ply. Should be plenty available.

There is more pooping in my house (less at the office and at school), and I don't want to go to the store / place online orders as frequently. It's cheap, and doesn't expire. That's my excuse. Everyone else is panic buying.

Ours didn't. We have to be out the door too effin early for cereal.

So what did they eat?

Usually some kind of breakfast bar in the car. I'd also let them heat up an Eggo Waffle if they would eat it dry in the car. Tried muffins a few times, but too damn crumbly.

The most recent episode of the podcast 99% Invisible does a really good job of explaining how easily the shortage occurred. Talks about everything from the shelf space, logistics, to commercial away-from-home use producers.

Home Depot has tons of boxes of wraping paper for moving. Just in case.
