Who would ya'll recommend to build a new pool in Round Rock?

I can tell you not to use Designer Pools and Outdoor Living. Our finished product is beautiful, but my goodness it wasn't worth the headaches with these people. A 3-month job took 8 months to complete, we had to hire someone else to fix a few things that they refused to address, the owner is a flake, one of their subs was drunk on the job, they didn't follow through and deliver everything that was supposedly part of the package, and my entire yard was destroyed (paid another guy an extra 5k to repair/replace everything).

After all that, and a very long, detailed email to the owner, I was told he would personally see to making sure everything was made right. I haven't heard back from him since. I did, however, hear from their office manager a few weeks later to inform me that we still owed a balance, which we didn't. I believe that manager has been fired since.

Read their yelp reviews. None of those are mine, but the 1-star reviews describe exactly what happened to us. Stay away from these guys.

A friend just had hers done with GK Pools. They had a wonderful experience and the pool is gorgeous.

Ours was built by Elite Pools. Randy Herzog was great to work with.

I own a pool service company in town, so I've seen many builder's pools and I've heard feedback from hundreds of customers and their recent construction experiences. Based on those two qualifiers, I always recommend the same 3 companies. Johnson Custom Pools, Jaida Custom Pools, and Cody Pools

Mpython, what's your opinion on premier pools and spas?

Very little except that they are a franchise.

Do you have a bad opinion of them or just don't know much about them?

Any opinions on J Scallon pools? And Johnson custom is Craig Johnson, right? Thanks!

I'm not going to speak poorly of any individual companies, I would just encourage you to go with the three I have named because they are as close as you can come to sure things in this business. Johnson is Craig Johnson. His dad started it decades ago and he's been the man for a number of years.

Have done quite a few pool designs for Dreamer Pools, Inc. out of Cedar Creek. Give Jorge Ramirez a call (512) 363-7816. He is who builds the pools for many big developments (Circle C, Crystal Falls, etc..).

I had a pool built last winter by Reliant Pools. They did a great job. Ask for Joel Hefner and tell him Scott recommended them.

As a point of reference I did contact Johnson and Jaida for competitive bids as suggested by Python. Johnson took the specs I wanted and came up with a design/price extremely close to that of Reliant. I went with Reliant based on great customer service by Joel in an effort to win my business. Jaida on the other hand come out, took measurements, pictures, etc and NEVER bothered to follow up with a bid, call back, or even email.

Reliant Pools will start for me next week, I had a very similar experience to Scott

Reliant was the highest bid, but the response and customer service was on another level from everyone else. Hopefully the build process will be the same
