As someone who regularly goes through the building process with the CoB, the fact that Waffle House has actually submitted site plans to Development Services for comments tells me this is more likely to happen than not.

It doesn't mean it won't get put on hold or cancelled, but this is far enough down the road in the planning stage that I believe it probably will happen. Just my two cents.

Next up for the mayor: "Waffle House of Tires".

If the Las Palapas site works out, I could see another Texas Avenue location around 2818/Texas. If not, I would speculate that Texas/SWP could be possible (near the former Kettle location, RIP).

Jones Crossing has plenty of space, but would they put in a diner/breakfast place so close to Another Broken Egg? (I know they're two different concepts.)

I am trying to picture where a Waffle House would "fit in" in south CS. I just don't see WH fitting the vibe at Tower Point or Caprock Crossing. Maybe adjacent to the incoming Bass Pro Shop? Maybe not south CS at all but rather somewhere near Academy or At Home?

For Bryan, 21 near Don Chente would make sense, as would (eventually) the Booneville area.

The problem with the Salad and Go location is it's leased.
With Salad and Go bankrupt and its lease terminated that shouldn't be an issue but I would suspect Waffle House would want to own their site.

It is all about the SEC and where to go after the bars close down.

Then somewhere around Northgate would have been better

Well, the Bryan one is only the FIRST location. I do think the former Taco Cabana/Las Palapas lot is a great candidate though for the Northgate area and one of the three most likely College Station locations when they show up.

Bryan will be the only location for probably 10 years. It's gonna be a long time before College Station gets one.

Correct but not for the reasons you think. They'll still be waiting on plan review and permits

The former Hooter's on the bypass would be a good spot for another Waffle House.

Same. Kiddo loves it. Last time we ate at one in Conroe was 2 months ago and I was VERY underwhelmed.

Didn't they say that when moving into a new market they need at least five stores?

Therefore, a College Station proper address is likely coming soon (either at Jones Crossing or at the old Las Palapas, I would imagine), and possibly Navasota later down the line.

I believe they said they likely will plan more locations in the "Brazos Valley Area". That is more likely to mean; Brenham, Madisonville, Huntsville, etc...

I don't think they'll start opening locations there until at least 2-3 are operational in BCS.

There are plenty of highfalutin breakfast shops in this town these days for people to get their avocado toast. With there only being one Kettle in town now we needed another place for the backbone of America to get a waffle.

I'm still disappointed that they tore down the south CS Kettle for a salad place that wasn't very good It closed, and we still have no Kettle in the south part of town.

The Kettle is awful.
I last ate there in the mid 00's, and decided that I can cook breakfast much better.

Kettle's main appeal was being open 24 hours. After COVID they dropped it. If you can't get a chicken fried steak at 2 am, why bother?

Do you only go eat at places that can make food better than you can at home

That's usually my goal.

If everyone only ate at restaurants that made food better than you can make at home then 90% of restaurants would close.
