I saw a thread a few months ago about financial planners but I can't find it now. We're looking for a new person to guide us through the last few years of our working lives and into retirement. Really want to find someone who can look at all the issues with us and help us make good decisions. TIA!

We have been extremely happy with the crew at Paragon.
Strong recommendation for Holistic. We joined them a year or so ago and couldn't be happier. PM me if you want more details.
Lot easier to give recs if you give a range of NAV. That changes a lot about opportunities and brokers.

Show up Wednesday at 8:30 to One Million Cups in the space that used to be the fire station. Don't mention you're looking for a financial planner, but do introduce yourself to people and just listen.

Not try to proselytize here, but my wife and I are Christians and we'e been very happy with Blue Trust (https://www.bluetrust.com). National firm with a Houston office, but they have a good amount of BCS clients and travel up here regularly (so our meetings with them are at our house or lunch out).
They of course service non Christian client as well but their wheelhouse is people with a bend toward generosity. Very competent on the financial and estate planning pieces - they just additionally have provided us resources, plugged us into events, and made connections for us, all with causes that matter / resonate to us.

My wife and I started using the founders of Paragon many years before they started Paragon. In the very early years we found them at the original First National bank in Bryan. When Franklin bank bought out the bank we followed them to their new shop. Paragon.
I just can't speak highly enough about the service and how they have managed our portfolio beyond our imagination.
