Fair enough. Maybe we need to start another thread on their ineptness.

Sometimes, but I'm a lawn nut. I keep mine mowed high (more efficient), mow twice a week, and water only twice a week. I water in early morning hours before the sun comes up, and use the cycle and soak method, and have my system calibrated to deliver .5" each time I run it.
I didn't choose my grass, it came with the grass. Converting to more native landscapes would be best, but that's not how it's done here. I'm going to take care of what I've got as efficiently as I can, and so that it can look its best. I still think I use less water than most do, but I've educated myself on how to use it most effectively. But grass yards in general are just dumb when there is potential for water shortages.
