Fall migration really heated up (no pun) this weekend. Went from one or two to a half dozen or more constantly on feeder this am. Hang em up if you have been neglecting them.

there are a whole lot of them still in Colorado I think the main migration will be later this year due to the heat and drought

I think the majority of them migrate on the moon and daylight length. Hot vs cold is an overrated factor in most bird migrations. Just my observation…. But I have heard similar from wildlife biologist. I'm sure it is involved, but not to the degree many think.

Put my feeder up today near Wellborn....none sited yet but early morning is usually a good time to gauge if they have arrived or not. As soon as I see some I'll put the rest of the feeders up.

Had two birds all summer but there were 5 fighting over a tiny feeder when I looked out the window so I added a second feeder yesterday.

Both feeders getting swarmed today! I just started another batch of food because I'll need it first thing in the morning.

New topic post a link to your favorite hummingbird feeder. One of mine is leaking so I need to quickly replace it.

Quick PSA: if your feeders have any black mold on them from the sugar, scrub it off. That stuff is really lethal to the birds. Had to deep clean mine the other day.

Those map dates are the juveniles finally heading out. Males go first, then females then the juveniles when they hit that critical body mass.
