Tonight the CoB city council will have a vote to add removal of medians to Nov. ballot

I don't follow CoB much, is this a nothing burger where they quickly vote to add to ballot, or is there going to be a fight?

OP, the fight has already happened and that is how we got here. The council votes tonight on whether to put it on the ballot or not. We the people have spoken.

I guess what I mean is it gonna be a quick unanimous Yes vote, or does the city have reasons to want to delay/keep it off the ballot. I know what the citizens want

Wait. We were assured that this was TxDOT that put them in with no says by CoB. How can CoB just take them out?

its not a vote to take them out. its a vote to put it on the ballot.

then after the people have spoken, then they will say its up to TxDOT

Exactly. The CoB is running a dog and pony show. They admitted they can put it on the ballot but it's meaningless.

And when it passes overwhelmingly in November the CoB will stand there with their hands in their pockets and say "well shucks, we want to do this, we really do but that whole TxDOT control thing just ties our hands."

Some of the money was from Federal grants, too, as I understand it. So it would look really bad to turn around and take them out, if they can even do it. I'm afraid we're all going to have to learn to live with the medians.

And the COB, and its citizens, can all truthfully say they did all they could do to remove them.

It is called kick the can, all politicians do it.

And yes most of the mediums are on numbered highways and so it is TxDOTs (i.e. the state of Texas) call.

I suspect ALL of the $$$ was Federal-Covid billions/millions, that the various govermental entities had to burn through, by certain dates.
Which will be hard to overcome, with local $$.
