Congrats to MikeTV, you're the winner! Please email suzanne@texags.com to claim your prize!

July in Aggieland has its own strange little feeling.

It is still full summer hot afternoons, slower traffic, quieter restaurants, kids at the pool, road trips, vacations, and trying to squeeze the last bit out of the season.

But somewhere around this point, something starts to shift. Football season is still six weeks away, but it no longer feels far off.
You start noticing the schedule again. You start talking about the first game. You think about where you'll park, who you'll tailgate with, what weekend everyone is coming in, and whether this is the year it all comes together.

That is the thing about Aggie football.
It doesn't really wait until kickoff.

So let's hear it…

When the trailers and uhauls start appearing. That's the signal that the students are back and to stay away from target and Walmart for a few weeks!

Pumpkin Spice and Halloween stuff is everywhere, even though it's late August and 102 degrees!

5G service doesn't work on your phone in between Rock Prairie and Villa Maria (because the students are back).

Actually, first signs of "football season" for me are typically SEC Media Days...which are next week.

Then it's the LLWS which is typically the last real sport to watch on tv (for me) until football. Maybe some golf and/or tennis sprinkled in with Nascar maybe (jonesing at this point for anything)

Then it's first practice and all the media stuff Texags provides.

Then it's the students coming in droves.

Then it's Week 0 which is typically a bunch of so-so games but they always have one in Ireland which is kinda cool.

Then it's 6-7 day countdown.

Then it's tailgate planning.

Then it's yell.

Then T-0.
