Unfortunately, I have a need for storage as I have my ****, my kids ****, and my parents ***** In general, it's a pain in the ass but I'm stuck with it for now.

Any recommendations out there? The place where I'm at bumps the rate every 6 months and gives you less than a month's notice on that. They have leverage, but it's a filthy business practice.

That's the industry standard…. They know you have a high barrier to leaving because you would have to move everything.

Actually I don't think SmartStop even calls them climate controlled any more. I think they are just interior units in the new contracts. AC seems out as much as it works.

Has anyone heard of the plans to do one that is real "climate control" and feature wine storage ? I thought i heard of someone looking at that. Becoming the "thing" in big metro areas.

We have used Cubby Hole on 29th for years. Climate controlled, well kept.

We've used Extra Space at Southwest and the feeder for the last year. Very clean facility.

I use SpareBox on Wellborn near Rock Prairie. Good facility, but a total racket. Ever since they bought out AllSafe in 2022, it's been constant price increases and other frustrations. I started out paying $105/month for our climate controlled unit in 2014. After multiple increases, it's now up to $237/month. Can't wait to get my stuff out of there.
