It is not. That was cancelled before it even started. This was bowling and movies.

Yeah IIRC the food court was prior to, and also IIRC the CoCS didn't actually consummate the meddling by actually buying the property like it did with Macy's.

I'd support a large combined cycle unit or mixed unit generation station. The strange thing is, aside from the solar panel factory, they don't tend to want to attract anything else that is concrete.

Because, apparently we have a bunch of (well-intentioned?) idiots running the show in both cities.

Who would have ever thunk that a tire shop guy and part time rancher would make bad decisions about loaning $2M to other long-time friends and son of other local business owners?!?

Also, who would have thought that a 80+ year old career professor who never had a job outside academia would not know how to run a business friendly city that attracted quality employers?

Man, this is a real head scratcher. /s

So, in this case, this city is out $2M. There are contractors who have not been paid for their work. There is a large half-finished eyesor..... errrrr.... building sitting there, right next to their shiny developments.

Which, I assume the taxpayers will be on the hook for the $2M.

For those playing along at home, EPMC (Mark Schulman) also runs the Palace and Queen for the City of Bryan.

Is there going to be any accountability for this? Will EPMC will continue to run the Palace and Queen, while owing the city $2M?

If only we had a hard hitting journalist in town to ask Andrew Nelson and Bobby G the hard questions. Man, If I was them, I might start floating some Open Records Requests to see CoB emails about this?

Man, this ball got thrown back from the cheap seats, didn't it?

I expect KBTX has done this, as we know they've open-record-requested plenty of documents in previous stories, but respondents can delay and really string you along with that. The TAMUS board of regents are really dirty with callin' everything under the sun an 'HR matter' that doesn't have to be made available.

This. The governmental entity can dispute the records request and ask the TX AG office for a ruling on it. Whether the dispute is legitimate or not, that starts a process that's at least a few months long.

Mayor said the Schulman operation "has hundreds of millions of dollars, invested in our community.." Hmmm..
So, not a problem to have an unfinished building, and a defaulted loan.
