Usually I post this sooner than the day before so I apologize for not doing so. This weekend is MS150 which is a 2-day cycling event that will impact traffic in College Station on Sunday afternoon. Tomorrow is pretty far outside of the immediate area with the closest impact being Belleville from roughly 9-2.

Sunday is a much bigger deal. Riders will start entering the area around 11ish and the route will stay open til like 4. We'll enter on 60 coming from Snook and the right lane of east bound 60 will be blocked off for riders. We'll exit at Easterwood, turn left onto Turkey Creek and ride to F&B where we'll turn right to Agronomy, cross University and cross under Wellborn next to Albritton Tower before finishing between Kyle and Aggie Park.

Impacted traffic areas will be:

  • 47/60 interchange. The underpass to east bound 60 will be closed Sunday. If you want to go east you'll have to take the exit to go west and either turn left (if they let you, I've seen both) or turn right and do a u-turn.
  • F&B/2818. This will be a mess. They'll manually run the traffic light there and queue up a lot of riders so we go across in large groups but it backs up pretty bad on both sides of this intersection.
  • Agronomy/University. This will also be a mess. Similar to the above they'll control this intersection manually and it will back up pretty bad.
My advice is to avoid the entire area if you can. If you're coming in on 47 during that time turn left onto Villa Maria and take that to Texas or Hwy 6 both of which will get you away from the event entirely. If you're coming in from Snook area and need to go to College Station, turn right onto 2818 and go that way as you'll avoid us almost entirely except for the closed right lane from Snook to Turkey Creek. That traffic seems to move at about the normal speed even with one lane so that should work out fine. If you need to go to Bryan off of University I'm not sure to be honest. I don't know how to get onto 47 from 60 normally so not sure what to say to avoid 2818/F&B.

There's about 5000 riders this year and the range is all skill levels so it gets pretty spread out. Just be patient and we'll get through it.

Thanks! Have a great weekend!
