I know there has been a lot of swatting lately at schools, but I did not expect this text/email this morning.

Just passing along in case other parents didnt see it yet.

To clarify- I have full confidence in our school's procedures and the capabilities of our ISD police, as well as city police and troopers in the area.

One person taken into custody. Have not been notified that lockdown was removed.

Yes. Multiple staff members heard the gunshots and used their wearable alert badges to trigger a crisis response at the school. It was immediately locked down and campus police began conducting their security plan. I was told multiple state troopers responded to the school, while the sheriff's office responded to the home (pretty much directly across from the front of the school). Turned into a standoff- using bullhorns to try to coax him out (Im not going to speculate on the issue, but he apparently fired multiple rounds inside his home). Lockdown was apparently lifted a few hours ago, though I got the call only about 15 minutes ago.
