Bartending and waiting tables is not supposed to be a livable income career. It's supposed to provide part time employment to those who want it.MiMi said:
The minimum wage in Texas for tipped employees has been $2.13/hr since 2009. But employers are supposed to ensure their pay is at least $7.25/hr. Which is still not a livable wage, no matter your level of education. At least with the increased cost of everything, tips are probably better than what they were 26 years ago (when Cheddars opened).

I think minimum wage went away ever since Covid. Target starts at $15 no experience. Chic fila I think is $14. Believe McDonald's is 14-15 as well. When I was 16 there was a lot of labor supply for minimum wage jobs that paid $4.25.
