Inherited a gnarly , heavy thatched Bermuda yard. Appears to have not been rolled or leveled and doubt the black clay soil mats have ever been punched. Anybody local who is a true pro at this?

I've seen this come up a time or two, and I believe the consensus is generally to DIY.

Tag for interest, as I have a new bermuda lawn I'm planning to aerate and level soon.

Some of the larger companies might offer this service, but I've yet to confirm anyone that does this locally. There's also not a DIY spreader rental available anywhere in town. Closest one I've found for rent is in Magnolia.

Sunjoe dethatcher plus white masonry sand and homemade drag (mine from a piece of bar grating) to pull behind my mower is how I'll do mine.

This came up a year ago or so. Some of us were looking for a walk behind spreader for the top dressing. I will try and find that thread.
