Sling day pass but I don't think it has ABC for this weekend's game. It gets you the ESPN channels though.

Will probably do a free trial of Direct TV stream for this weekend's ABC needs.

Awww bummer. That was our plan to get the game. I didn't know they don't have ABC.

How is streaming with the internet here? I have fiber and streaming is just horrible. I had to go cable just to watch the games without buffering every couple minutes.

I went through several routers/mesh systems trying to get streaming to work. It was fine during the weekdays 8-5. That's about it. After first game or two, I gave up and went back to cable. Even when it was not buffering, it was at least 15-30 seconds behind cable.

Dumped suddenlink, went to AT&T air, that sucked, went to metronet and it's been a HUGE win! Streams Directv without any hiccups.

100% streaming for at least 6-7 years. No issues. Currently on Frontier.

We've used the SlingTV day pass for games this year. That's really the only TV we watch. It will cost less than one month of Youtube TV.

I've heard (on the football board) that there are streams you can find on Youtube of various college games. They may get taken down in the middle of the game but .... maybe not.

That seems weird. Who is your provider. I have broadband, not fiber, and I stream everything fine.

Seems incredible I have to sign up for an additional streaming service I don't really want just to watch a couple of football games which are both being broadcast nationally over the airwaves for free by ABC, but here we are.

Did a 5 day free trial of Fubo to watch Monday Night Football (which was a waste of time as a Cowboys fan), and for the Aggies at Missou tomorrow. I'll cancel after the Aggie game & hope YouTube TV and Disney work things out soon, because I've been happy enough with YTTV for years.

Fubo is $55 for the first month, then $85/mo. No CNN/TNT/TBS. An ESPN Unlimited account is included. Includes 10 music channels aka "Fubo Radio," but they have full length commercials.

Some other comps I found, configured with programming as close to YouTube TV as they offer:

Hulu + Live TV is $65/mo for three months, then $90/mo. You also get regular Hulu, Disney+, and ESPN Select (formerly ESPN+), but all of those are with ads. Ad-free Hulu and Disney+ is another $10/mo. Has the SEC Network.

YouTube TV is $73/mo for three months, then $83/mo. Currently without any Disney/ABC/ESPN channels, and they don't carry any regional sports networks (like the old Fox Sports Southwest/Bally or the new Rangers Sports or Space City Home Networks). Does have the SEC network.

Sling Orange+Blue is almost comparable for $61/mo. But no local channels in the B/CS market, so no ABC/NBC/CBS/FOX national feeds. No SEC Network without the Sports Extra package for another $15/mo. They claim sporting events broadcast nationally on ABC (which you wouldn't get in B/CS) are simulcast on ESPN3 (which you would get).

DirecTV has streaming options and any sports programming you'd like to pay to add on, but they still love service charges and fees. The cheapest option goes to $95/mo after the first month, has ESPN but not the SEC Network, need to step up to the $115/mo plan for that. Plans that include a regional sports network also automatically get $14 added to the advertised price as a *regional network fee.

What a mess :/

Frontier. My kids stream games too. I just can't deal with the buffering during games. I've been on cable for 4 years now. Maybe it's better now.

I'm on Frontier and it's awesome. I work from home and am often streaming, listening to Spotify, have a Teams meeting going - never once had any delays. Frontier also has higher tiers of speed -- not sure what you're on but if you call and ask for retention and threaten to cancel they'll throw a crazy offer probably for a faster speed for cheaper, and send a tech out to check out all your wires outside the house.

Thanks, you just made my day! Edit: that is on the "Select" package - it's $29.99/mo. Still the cheapest option I've found. Might have to pull the trigger on a month.

Seems like possibly too many mesh access points and constantly switching between them? Did you ever try just the main router? Fiber should have zero of the issues you had. Even on starlink I don't have buffering

Get an antenna. Most pick up at least 18-20 channels even the indoor HD powered ones like this

On most games you can watch them off regular YouTube for free if you have internet

FuboTV free trial

I did this last week and they didn't even have broadcasters for the Texas and Vandy game. It was the most poverty service I've ever seen.

So then I did a five day free trial for DirectTv stream and then canceled after MNF. Will do the same again tomorrow using different credentials.

Not sure what you were watching but Fubo had the main ABC broadcast with announcers and all.

Let your conscience be your guide for this weekend.

Strange. It didn't for me and was so weird watching a game with just crowd noise and it wasn't even loud so I had to find an alternative.

If you can wait until the next day, you can watch the 3 hour game in about 13mins (highlights).

Maybe you had it in a surround sound setting without a center channel? Weird. It's happened to me with movies when my center channel had a loose wire disconnecting it.

In those modes all the talking goes to the center channel. If it's not connected you get something like you had.

I did the day pass on Sling yesterday. The first option Sling gave me to watch LSU - Alabama was ESPN 4k. It was the view your are describing. Also, no commercials. Went to a stadium view during commercials. YTTV doesn't have ESPN 4k (that I've ever seen), so I didn't realize what I was looking at for a few minutes. I changed over to ESPN 3 after a while to watch the ABC feed with announcers. And commercials.
