I am familiar with the Brazos Valley Food Bank quite well, but am wondering what other organizations are taking food donations or cash to buy food? The 12th Can at TAMU is another I suppose. If anyone has leads let me know. This would not include food drives that then go to the food bank as I'm happy to deal with them directly. So maybe a short list of charities or organizations doing this. TIA.

I believe that you can give to money to the BCS Development Foundation and have it directed to any of the hundreds of non profits they support.
My husband and I volunteer at the Brazos Church Pantry on W 26th street in Downtown Bryan. The number of families we serve is increasing weekly. We are open 6 days a week and we are a 100% volunteer pantry… No one gets paid so every dollar goes to provide food for the folks who need it. If you have any questions please ask!
Thanks! Do you take cash donations, food, and if so canned, dried, fresh produce, etc? Should this be delivered and dropped off directly or, if money, mailed?
We pretty much accept it all but we prefer shelf stable items… can veggies, can/dried beans, can fruit, rice, peanut butter, pastas, tuna, You can donate to the pantry anytime we're open…Monday and Wednesday 1:00-2:30, Tuesday Thursday and Friday 9:30-11:00. Or Saturday 10:00-11:30. Our address is 304 W 26th street Bryan Texas 77803. I volunteered at the SA food pantry for years. Good place to donate. Solid people. Also went to the Church pantry a few times. Same there.

They do an awesome job and are an amazing organization. I once heard Captain Luis speak. He was the only non-profit charity that I can recall talking about their mission is to put themselves out of business.
Meaning they want to make people self sufficient.
Wanted to bump this because several folks (myself included) who have decent sized gardens have inquired about donating fresh produce for those in need. This seems to provide a good place to start for anyone with produce to share and interested.

Ditto for either Brazos Church Pantry (have volunteered there numerous times- GREAT people!) or Salvation Army, which does SO much for our community in need.
