Muir Wood subdivision in Anderson

Does anyone know about this area? We are retired and plan to move to the College Station area. We're used to country living so many of the subdivisions in CS that we've considered don't appeal to us because of the small lots. Muir Wood has 1 acre lots which would be ideal. Thanks for any responses.

There's a landfill a few miles down the road.

We looked at it. Awfully close to the landfill. That was enough for us to go elsewhere.

Listed as Anderson but it is on 30, between CS and Carlos, just east of the landfill entrance. I think future landfill acreage is across the road from it.

Twin Oaks is less than 1.5 miles west on 30, across the road. Grimes County Land Fill is literally the neighboring property and less than .5 miles from entrance to entrance.

There's also a pipeline right through the middle of it.

From what I have seen it's a style craft subdivision. You choose one of a few floor plans. It's listed as Anderson. But it's Anderson ISD

Thanks for the replies. We haven't actually driven out there so didn't know about the landfill. We'll keep looking.

The Twin Oaks expansion area is across the street from this development.

Muir is also next-door and downwind of an oil & gas waste disposal facility.

I live by that area. There is never a smell from the landfill. Muir Wood has wooded lots, 2 really nice fishing lakes, fiber optics, no city taxes. Homes priced $350-450k. Most rural areas much more expensive. I guess to each their own.

The actual entrance is 2 miles off Hwy. 30. The houses are even further away.

I don't know anything about the subdivision but the entrance there on 30 looks like an 1980's sci-fi fever dream. Like I'm stepping on to the set of Zardoz.....

Almost Bedias north and almost to almost to 105 south. Just east of Kings oaks to the west and a couple of miles east of Shiro to the east.
