I just wanted to come onto our local forum and give a huge shout out to Thompson, Derrig, & Craig, PC (TD&C). Too many times, I see posts that are about the negative experiences and not the positive ones, so I wanted to bring attention to a positive experience.
I moved our company from La Porte (Houston area) to Bryan a few years ago and it only made sense to move our third-party audit to a local firm. I searched and interviewed a few firms locally, finally selecting TD&C. We had a lot going on in our last FY that created a little more work than normal and the fact that we switched firms can have challenges in transferring depreciation, lease, and other schedules to the new firm. TD&C sent me a list of what they wanted us to provide to start the review process and it was off to the races.
With a FY end of October, and having 3 weeks of holidays with Thanksgiving, Christmas, and New Years, getting reviewed financials completed by the end of Q1 is extremely stressful and intense. It takes us nearly 20 days internally just to close the year out in making sure we have contacted hundreds of vendors for statements to process quickly, make sure that we have processed all of our own billings and had those reviewed by our clients for approval, and make all of our internal end-of-year entries so generally an audit firm can start our review after Thanksgiving. TD&C came through like a CHAMP!!! In the last 8 years, we have not had a review completed by the end of our Q1 until now. I jokingly mentioned in our office that I had more emails from Kay (TD&C CPA), during this year review, than I had received from our prior firm in the last 5 years combined, but the joke aside... the communication is top notch and a huge reason why we will continue our relationship with TD&C.
I just wanted to publicly acknowledge Kay and the entire TD&C team for an awesome job! They are a 5-star firm and we couldn't be more blessed to have used their services and look forward to continuing our new relationship with them! Thank you, Kay and TD&C!!
