We live outside the city limits and have propane for cooking and fireplace. Who do you guys recommend to get our propane tank refilled based on cost and service?

Had a very friendly and knowledgeable guy from Pico Propane came out to inspect our propane tank a while ago, but I put in a request on their website last week and haven't heard back.

We're with Leon Gas Company on the south end of Robertson county. They've been good to deal with so far (installed and filled a few months ago).

ETA: For the sixth recommendation in now 7 posts...

Seconded. Been easy to deal with and very responsive. They have drivers over our way a lot. Got a truck out same day I called.

My first call was to Leon Gas Co. but they said they don't really cross the river on 21 as SE as we are. But if you are closer to OSR might give them a call too. Either way they both are good to me.

Best time to fill up is October. You are likely gonna get screwed with the cold front approaching next week. It pays to call everyone, I have saved hundreds of dollars in the past shopping for propane.

At least in the past StarTex was the least expensive and their price was always a fixed amount above the spot price you can find here https://ycharts.com/indicators/mont_belvieu_propane_spot_price
Albert has retired but his replacement was good also.
In the past people like amerigas was 4 to 5X the current spot price.
Call them all!

We use symank, every time we order online somehow it doesn't go through??? So I usually call them in the morning and they deliver within 24 hours. If you're happy with their service just call.

Went with Star Tex after a bunch of recommendations from TexAgs about 5 years ago. No complaints at all during our time with them, but I have not shopped pricing.

I paid $3.00/gallon this week to fill up the tank.

Update. I used Symank and they were super easy to deal with. I didn't call around for pricing this time because I just needed it done, so I can't comment on how competitive their rate was. I was happy though.
