UPS Ground

How long do you want to ignore this user?
So I have been debating with a company I ordered 10 toner cartridges with who is saying the box was delivered the week before Christmas and I did not get it. I did walk my neighborhood asking about the box..no luck.

Yesterday I had a knock on my door and a Aggie student was at the door with my box. He said when he got back in town it was sitting at his front door...six blocks away. After giving up on fighting the company to get my money back, I had to order from another company as I needed toner cartridges and didn't want to pay the $60 or so at Office Depot.

How can a large box be delivered six blocks away? Does the driver not look at the address? This is the second time this has happened with UPS Ground.

Between USPS issues and UPS, delivery of an item and its timing is not very reliable.

Seems like all of them have issues. My Fedex delivery guy literally body slams my packages on my front porch. Had to send video to the Fedex center to get it to stop. USPS delivered one of my packages to a house that has been vacant for months and half the time the status of a package says delivered, then it shows up 3 days later when the delivery person brings it to me. They are all deeply flawed.

I've had many more issues with FedEx and USPS than UPS and have concluded that many of their employees cannot read. I have had this very discussion with managers and have noticed some improvement but too often packages continue to be delivered to wrong addresses!!!
Pathetic!!!

And then you have the FEDEX/USPS blend....you order something that says it will ship FEDEX...even has a FEDEX package...but they contract with USPS and so it's late. I had a package due to arrive December 21....it showed up January 6th.

We occasionally have issues with packages being delivered to a particular house 3 blocks over. The house # is the same as ours and both streets start with the same letter. Every 4-6 months, they get a package intended for us or vice versa. Maybe it was a scenario like that. In our case, we're friends with the people in that house so it's an easy fix, but still somewhat of a hassle

USPS still has workers from out to town helping.

FedEx is contracted out to the highest bidder who then hires people that will work for lower wages

UPS is union

That's all I need to know

Do you have the ability to select how a seller ships your items?

That would work, but this was delivered to a home before Christmas where A&M students live, so the box sat on their front porch for more than two weeks. I am amazed that it wasn't taken by a door thief.

True, but I don't believe UPS Ground delivery persons are employees but are private contract. I know FedEX ground is.

Ups drivers deliver all classes of packages and are employees. Fedex ground division outsources by area and companies bid on areas. They have strict rules about vehicles and procedures but at least locally it also seems they require drivers that fear any dogs, know how to launch any package at least 50 ft like a frisbee and mark addresses as non existent that they delivered to the prior day. I believe they use the same training as usps does.

actually yes... I buy a lot of plants online and tell the sellers that I only accept deliveries if its Fedex.. MAYBE UPS if absolutely necessary but I will not accept delivery via USPS.

Especially now cause its cold and my plants dont like cold.. im afraid Bryan USPS would drive it around town for a week.

I personally know a local Bryan-ite who had a package delivered from Colllege station (4 miles distance) but it took 11 weeks to deliver.

I've had the usps driver drive by my house, deliver my mail, and have a package for me In his vehicle but package was returned to post office because address was undeliverable because according to driver/office the address didnt exist. Even though he delivered my mail, my address is on the mailbox, and the package, whcih came a day later, matched the address on my mailbox..

It's very true that when you complain at the main office, the employees say 'good luck with that'...

now if its something from Amazon or similar.... im screwed so I just take it where the sun is not shining.
