Looking for recommendations for an on-campus event space for an event later this spring. Celebration event for a Texas A&M organization's 50th anniversary. Will consist of a lot of networking, standing lunch, some table displays of the history of the org (photos, memorabilia, etc), and a stage/podium for some prepared remarks from the founders and current leadership. In general, a lot of standing around and talking since we are inviting all former members and some other stakeholders. Attendance between 200-300 in total.

Already have the Zone Club, Agrilife Center, and Leach Teaching Gardens (outdoor option) on our mind. Want a larger, more open feeling so not thinking Bethancourt Ballroom in the MSC or similar. Any recs?

Edit: Cheaper the better so not looking to rent out the Legacy Club or anything. I know it's not a lot but we have about $5k to work with total for event space, catering, and decor

I'm not sure if it will fit your needs, but Stage 12 at Brookshire Brothers is available for rent. We rented it a few years ago.

I would email specialevents@athletics.tamu.edu and let them know what you need. They are really good at helping find useful ideas.

Good call.

MSC is pricey

Equine Center has a large room. They are usually helpful.

Equine center has hosted several events for my dept. The new Bush Library event space isn't cheap but it's impressive

When I worked at TAMU, I attended a luncheon in a large meeting space in the Rec Center (overlooking the baseball field).

Aggieland Park maybe with a crowd that size? I know weather could be an issue but still.

Top of Rudder Tower in the faculty dining area. Went to a rehearsal dinner there once. Heard it was very reasonably priced.

I'm pretty sure there's an event space in Reed Arena.

It would be helpful to know how many people OP is expecting to attend.

Main hall of the Alumni Center, people can wander out into Aggie Park if they want.

Like others have said, Equine Center is good as well.

Annenburg Presidential Center is also good. TAMU Hotel & CC.

Having organized and managed probably more than 75 events from 10 persons to 2,000, I would eliminate any outdoor locations. Belive me, that is one issue you don't have to face three days before the event when everything else is scheduled and placed. Lots of good recommendations on this thread.

You can rent the big open space at Rudder Theatre. They call it the "Exhibit Hall". They'll clear out the furniture and add pipe and drape if you need it, but when I worked there we had lots of events that just rented the room exactly like you are talking about.

Not sure what you should use, but don't even inquire about the MSC. Crazy pricing for what you get. Just don't.

This was option 1A for us but we got beat by the Texas Science and Engineering Fair to making a reservation. Great location though

Thanks for all the recommendations! Any more would still be wonderful. Will definitely check with the Equine Center. Our organization is already doing an event in the Association building main hall this spring and we have a close relationship with them, so kinda wanting to switch it up a bit for this event if that makes sense.

The rental price on this space is expensive. Last rates I saw - $4,000 for half day, $8,000 for full day, regardless of your affiliation with the school.
