Some of the companies mentioned show that they have properties for rent in Aggieland. One shows to have a board member that is an Aggie.

The managers would give the rent prices they are charging and their occupancy (which was always lower than what they would tell you )

This was done about twice a year normally

I'm glad they are attempting to force these mega-landlords to comply, but sadly I think the DOJ will still lose the case. These companies combined have pretty much unlimited resources and attorneys, and they have a common goal to fight for.

The whole yieldstar thing is interesting. Basic premise is that you sign up for the system. And it shows you the activity at other properties nearby. If a unit goes unleased on that day, the algo "recommends" a slightly lower rent. But if a unit or similar unit is leased, then it recommends a slightly higher rent. So pretty much tracks activity and prices based off that.

This lawsuit isn't necessarily going after the big 6 but more that software and system entirely.
