Saw a leasing brochure from OG for new retail spaces at the high-rise that lists the beds to be delivered at NG in the next 2 years. 7,200 New beds over the next 2 years.

Even if TAMU were actively trying to grow, it would take the market time to absorb those beds.
It'll be interesting to see how things play out.

Is that last column "Avg price per bed" the rent? Per bed?

That project has actually moved quicker than I expected. Cranes may be up by February.

Up until CoCS wants to put a giant sewer line down the middle of your street because current infrastructure can't handle eleventy-thousand more toilets in a small area.

This guy gets it. In addition to the sewage issue, there's the strain of the road infrastructure in general, especially as students get "priced out" of Northgate and have to go farther to find housing, of the entire Northgate area as they look for places to shop and eat (Northgate has no real places to go shopping, even supermarkets), and the existing road network hasn't seen any major upgrades in the last 20 years. Even without the East Loop, things like finishing off Welsh to George Bush Drive, and upgrading Dartmouth and Munson into a four-lane road all the way from Harvey Mitchell Parkway South to University Drive East would make a tremendous difference.

Any chance they would rent them per night like with AirBnB if they are not full ??? Those monthly prices are about the same as nightly rates for game weekends.

Growth has growing pains. It's called life. More people are born every day than people die, the population will continue to grow for BCS.

People would be a lot more upset around here if the population was declining. You don't want that.

That rules you out as City Manager.

Extending Welsh would be a major project, and step on a lot of toes, with much wailing and gnashing of teeth. CoCS would have to eminent domain at least 5 or six properties to extend the road to Bush (coming out at the existing signal at Houston x Bush). In addition, they'd need to take 8-10' on each side of the existing roadway north of Holleman to accommodate bike lanes and a slightly wider roadway for cars.

I've only lived in BCS for under a decade, but nobody wails and gnashes their teeth like the folks who live immediately south and east of campus.
