Christmas lights and electrical adapters

Christmas lights all seem to have "flareless" female connectors; extension cords and any adapters I can find all seem to have the flare on one of the two male prongs.

Do you know of a local outlet that carries "flareless" two-prong adapters? (Sorry, I don't know the technical term for the flare.)

Pretty sure you can plug a non-polarized device (lights) into a polarized (wider on one side) extension cord or outlet with no problems.

Yeah, but that's not what he wants to do. I had a similar problem where I was wrapping a tree and wanted to use extension cords to get up to the bases of different branches without overlapping lights on the trunk. A good pair of dykes solved the issue but, for legal purposes, I should probably not recommend that.

Correct. I'm wrapping the trucks of multiple trees some distance apart in the backyard. Trying to link them with extension cords. The extension cords and the female end of the light strands don't play nice with each other.

I am not an electrician, but I solved a similar problem by narrowing the flared prong with a file.

I used a pair of dykes to basically do the same thing.
