We want to enlarge some of our backyard space. Looking to clear roughly 1/4 -1/2 an acre of wooded brush, so we can prep and sod the yard.

Looking for recommendations for companies or individuals with experience.

Would ideally like to sod beginning of spring so planning now.

We had D4 Land Services LLC clear some mesquite trees off our lot last winter. They did an excellent job and were quite reasonable.

Be very clear about your expectations of any trees you don't want touched. Post oaks will die if the roots are disturbed or bark skinned.

Be clear about what you want it to look like when done. Some machines make a much smaller mulch.

Understand that any yaupon will need to be sprayed or ripped out roots and all. You don't want to sod around the roots and have it grow through. At that point you're going to kill spots everywhere you spray. If you spray prior to clearing, be careful around any desirable trees.
