Anyone have the inside scoop on if/when the Highway 249 / Aggie Expressway will be extended out to Highway 6? I thought the project was done now, with it tying into 105, but someone recently told me TXDOT has a ROW now secured that would extend all the way to Highway 6. That would completely bypass the 105/Highway 6 intersection in Navasota. Anyone know if that's true?

I do know 105 will be raised to go over 6 instead of a light like it is today. I don't think it part of the toll system but I could be wrong.

105 has been a very dangerous road for decades.
Anything that can be done to ensure the safety of drivers is worth a study and consideration.

Highway 6 and 105.

TxDOT's Bryan District is developing plans to widen SH 105 from SH 6 to SH 249 in Grimes County, Texas. SH 105 serves as a vital local and regional roadway connector. Traffic volumes along this segment have increased since the opening of SH 249 leading to increased congestion.

The project is currently planned to begin construction in 2029.

And it's going to bottleneck on 249 south because it's only two lanes wide in Grimes County.

A buddy at TXDOT said that it's going to be similar to the flyover in Hempstead. It will be both directions.

if you look at the map; it is just begging to be extended to SH-6 just north of Navasota. They will also have to consider a widening of 6 into CS at that point.

Not happening. Navasota won't allow it.
