I was looking at a map that was showing me results based on zip 77845. It was defaulting to Wicker, Texas. This was a Google Maps integration. There is a Wikipedia page calling it a ghost town.

https://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/Wicker,_Texas

So question: has anyone noticed this before?

I forget the other one basically where sw. Parkway and wellborn intersects.
Weather underground is bad about showing place names based on dead towns. Says i am in enright but i am on greens prairie trail.

Would love to have more information about this community. It's literally right down the road from me.

According to the Handbook of Texas. Wicker is a small community located west of Farm Road 2154 about ten miles southeast of Bryan in southern Brazos County. The settlement probably began in the early 1900s as a stop on a spur of the InternationalGreat Northern Railroad. Maps of the 1930s also showed a church in the area. No population estimates were available in the late twentieth century.

A lot of these places were never really "towns." Just general names for places for one reason or another. Where a particular person or family lived, a church/graveyard, a gin, a water stop on the railroad.

I haven't seen much information about Enright. It's at the spot where Straub Road turns toward the river; if you keep going straight it becomes Stousland Road. From looking at old maps, I suspect that there was a water stop, perhaps with a spur, between the railroad that still exists and the I&GN railroad. There is a decent size reservoir there, and another smaller one. I don't know how long they have been there. The location of the tracks may explain why Straub turns there. There also used to be a little loop in the road there that may have been a remnant of something.

Appears Enright Community got its name from the nearby RR Enright Switch? https://ibb.co/vzjv3Hy Also the Minter Springs Cemetery states it is located in Enright: https://www.findagrave.com/cemetery/2299073/minter-springs-cemetery
