Just wondering why KBTX has Montgomery, Trinity, Houston counties in their "Brazos Valley" on their weather maps?

Not only are there rivers between BCS and those counties, I would think that most people in Houston and Trinity county watch Lufkin TV for their weather info and Montgomery county residents watch Houston TV channels.

It has been that way as long as I can remember. I would imagine it has to do with people having friends and family in those counties and residents in Brazos County traveling through those counties on a regular basis.

I have always wondered this too. I can remember when it was only seven counties.
Brazos, Robertson, Burleson, Grimes, Washington, Leon, Madison

Not sure why it includes all these other counties. It really skews the weather forecasting up when they say 20% chance of rain in the Brazos valley. A neighbor tells me the increase in counties happened when KBTX increased their output power.
Walk softly and carry a big stick! Make sure the big stick makes big boom noises and flashy bright lights.

I believe it has to do with the area that their over the air signal reaches TVs.

Probably the case, but I suspect most people in those three counties don't watch KBTX TV.

Those persons in TrinityGroveton and Conroe areas probably chuckle when they hear they are in the Brazos Valley.

I travel to Houston and Trinity counties on most days of the week for work. You would be surprised how many people actually watch KBTX in those areas. It is a good mix of ABC13/KBTX/Tyler viewers, and the rest typically have Fox News on. I had someone the other day ask me what Bob French was up to nowadays.
