Not that they did the wrong thing. I'm guessing they figured that since the incident happened at 11pm last night and 7 hours away from Brazos Countians, they'd ping us at 4:52am which is right during peak REM for me :P

I hope they catch this punk and the injured officer has recovered. I really do appreciate all they do in this day and age.

But it has me thinking of how many people like me just reached over and turned off all "government notices" on my phone - weighing the odds vs catching a few more Z's in the future. Yes, I'm selfish and dumb!

Yeah I think they just got 50% of the people in Texas to turn off government alerts with this one.

I have my notices turned off; they never seem to be during daytime hours and their never an emergency impacting my family.

I will always assist and keep an eye on emergency like amber, silvers and blues... however I'm not going to wake up, get in my car and drive around. Need to go to work after all, and no one wants to work with someone named grmpy with no sleep.

I have all the noises turned off on all of those and have for years. There's nothing I'm going to be able to help with from bed.

I have all of them turned off except Extreme. That's what this one was. That's getting turned off now.

You can silence them 24/7 and still get them. That's how mine are set up. I don't need my phone blaring at inconvenient times.

There are some people that actually need to have their phones on to get important phone calls.

If the people managing these alerts don't have any respect for anyone, then they can expect to be silenced.

On the other hand, the alert did make enough people cranky to probably want to shoot this guy on site for causing it to be necessary in the first place.

You can setup DnD to allow for important personal calls.

I think the criminals should be more respectful on when they commit crimes.

As mentioned some of us are on call for work calls and cannot use DND while sleeping. The real problem is whoever decided this should go state wide at 450 am.
