i had to cut down a dead cedar tree in my front yard and am currently in the process of cutting off limbs so that i can drag the trunk around back and dump it into our ravine.

before tossing it, however, i thought i would offer it to someone who could make use of it. the trunk is at least 12" (prob more) in diameter at the base, and i'd guess it was around 20' tall.

i would be willing to give it away to anyone who could come pick it up, or i can cut it into manageable pieces and bring it to you on my trailer for $100.

There may be someone that might use it, but many woodworkers won't use wood from yards due to the possibility of nails and screws in it from that will ruin a band or circle saw blade.

It would make great starter wood for a fireplace.

I ruined a few in the past.

Cedar "pops" too much for a fireplace. Outdoor pit is ok.

I have used cedar off and on for about 55 years in my fireplaces but I have always had a spark screen. I would not use it w/o a screen.

I have a stack of cedar logs in my backyard. Every time I cut one down, I buck it and stack it. Have used several for projects. Put 2 in a house we remodeled. Plan to use some for posts in a chicken coop.
