The Walgreens @ rock prairie/longmire… terribly slow in filling prescriptions. Can't take it no mo…

Where's a better place in Socost? Heard HEB @ Fitch is good?

I've been happy with HEB at Jones Crossing

Nothing can be slower than the Walgreens on Boonville Road. They've taken slow service to an art form.

The S&W pharmacy at Arington & Fitch has always been good for me.

I think they'll fill non-S&W prescriptions, but I can't swear to it.

There may even be a worse case. You may have to fight when there is no hope of victory, because it is better to perish than to live as slaves." - Sir Winston Churchill

I switched to them from RP Walgreens when I went on Medicare. Night and day difference. Price and service. But my doctor is with BSW.

It's not particularly close to you, but BCS Pharmacy on Osler in Bryan has been a godsend for my 91 YO mother (and her family).

Highly recommend HEB on Fitch. I've also heard good things about the BSW Pharmacy at Arrington and you don't need BSW insurance or one of their docs to get prescriptions filled there.

GoldStar by Lowes. Only open M-F though but super easy to work with.

HEB for anything short-term. Express Scripts for anything long-term.

100+ degrees in my mailbox, delivered by my less than reliable mailman, is a oh no, hell no.

Anything that needs to be kept cold is shipped in an ice chest with cold packs. That's how one of my meds comes. And if you don't trust the mail (don't blame you), you can have it shipped UPS or FedEx.

Most meds are to be stored between 59 and 86 degrees. Capsules on the lower end, tablets on the upper. Your mailbox is not at that temperature in the summertime. And mail order pharmacies do not ship tablets and capsules in an ice chest or cold packs.

Mail order may be convenient for some, but certainly not as safe as a bricks and mortar pharmacy.

I agree. Recently, I have had many things turn up missing - stuck in the postal system.

I would never have prescriptions mailed to me.

Good lord. I have all my long term meds filled locally. Express Scripts plus USPS? And all my meds are cheaper than Express Scripts anyway.

I would never voluntarily sign up for prescription drug mail deliveries. This study showed that packages were out of the recommended temperature range for the majority of the transit time, regardless of shipping method, carrier, or season.

The chain pharmacies are great for their hours but the small pharmacies will always have better service. GoldStar, Village Foods, BCS Pharmacy, Carol's pharmacy, etc. Just pick which you need or prefer.

My insurance requires Walgreens so I use them. No problems as long as I give them a good week + notice on refills. I haven't needed an urgent rx in a long time but usually takes under 24 hours.

no issues with CVS RP. I've traveled and had no issues with getting service in another city with CVS. I had to go to urgent care on a work trip and was able to get meds in that city at CVS.
