You get a big blast from the Chinook turbines so that could be why it is not included.

I figured it was the rotor radius.

Helicopters are hard to photograph in a group shot because they fly further apart than jets (so their rotors don't hit each other and cause a crash).

The best of the mediocre "group shots"....

The better pics.

Chinook

Blackhawk

Blackhawk

Apache

4th and final try to link a video.

I meant the 1 group shot was mediocre; i didn't mean to imply they all were. However, that is what i typed.

My normal bedtime is 9ish so I'm just tired.

Did they take a different flight path this time? Usually they come straight up over CSHS but they looked to start further East yesterday.

They were in a racetrack holding pattern running east west with the hold entry about where the old RP dump was. Made several trips around it before entering the flyover.

That's the latest I've ever seen a flyover be. We were well into "Texas Our Texas" before they got there.

They are helicopters. Not as fast as jets.

I would think choppers would be just as good as jets getting to a specific target on time. A lot of people could be waiting for fire/medical support or pickup and things could get very bad if the choppers don't get there when they're supposed to. I imagine they are trained to be able to get to that point just like jets are. The timing was odd on this one.

Rumor has it we may get some F18 Growlers which is pretty darn awesome.

National anthem at 11:32am and they are supposed to time it at the end of the anthem.
