I bet he is chasing Ted Cruz around Texas. Cruz was the keynote speaker for a Chamber of Commerce event today.

No! Just like Hillary. Never goes away. Ironic as I had lunch with Ted Cruz at CoC today so politicians are heavy in CS

Not exactly a fan (nor do I dislike him) but he won pretty handily in El Paso. I see him as an archetype of MANY politicians who are fine locally but get too big for their britches and think their appeal goes way beyond what it does. No party has a monopoly on that sort.

And registering voters is good in our embarrassingly low turnout state. Regardless of how they vote.

"Beto" delivered my washer and dryer. I said "oh like the...." and before I could finish he said "yeah but I'm a real Mexican and he's not".

They pack a few more hundred thousand Californians into the Peoples Repulik of Austin, and things will get real interesting in this state. Beto may get some more votes. He's playing the long con.

I don't know, sometimes I think there's a bunch of people voting that don't take it very seriously.

We might be better off if it required a little more effort than just stopping by a table at the MSC, after signing up for your free T-shirt and first credit card.

Exactly.

The Batt wanted to put the word "disenfranchised" in the headline of the article last year about voting being at city hall instead of at the MSC.

Students (mostly from one side of the aisle) said that they were being inconvenienced at not being able to bebop over to vote after getting a Starbucks in the MSC. Yet they have no problem scootering all over town and leaving Veo scooters on the corner of every intersection.

Such a soft generation.

But why should voting be more difficult? We call it a right but then some endorse creating obstacles to perform that right? That doesn't seem correct. People on both sides complain about turnout. Making it easier solves that problem. Many countries automatically register their citizens to vote and some even have compulsory voting.

It wasn't easier for regular citizens who had to come to campus and pay to park to go vote.

City Hall is literally across the street from campus.

I only voted once at the MSC (when the line at the CSU Meeting and Training Facility was way too long. Free parking was available in the parking garage across the street (next to the TAMU Hotel). Line was significantly shorter and parking was easy and free.

What obstacles are being created, and who is endorsing them?

How is voting even remotely difficult as it is?

It's convenient for those of us who work on campus. Takes me & my colleagues about 10 minutes to walk from ZACH to the MSC to vote. It's also a good excuse to eat at the MSC as well.

If you're voting on campus, they'll validate your parking.
