Should Amazon indicate an interest in the Macy's space but ask for a tax abatement of some sort, how do think the council would react?
We have scant few such agreements. In fact I can only remember one, Fujifilm, that we've approved and that was a ministerial action stemming from an agreement years old but still in effect.
All land sales I recall have been full price with no incentives since I've been on council. I feel confident in saying our CM and Council drive a tough, fair bargain when it comes to incentives.
Any corporation that receives any sort of incentive from this council and staff should count itself fortunate because it is rare. I want to see this happen but I'm not willing to give away the taxpayer's farm.
I'm getting too close to deliberating but I wanted to answer you best I could. I hope that's responsive to your question.
Have a good week.
Respectfully,
Yancy
