I came here to post this.

My kids went to school with her brother K through 12. This is an outstanding family. She was in the stands at her brothers soccer games. My heart breaks tremendously. I don't have any info as to what happened. I am just in shock.

A sidebar: I did not get an amber alert on my phone. But I doo seems to get them from the far corners of our state. Why did we not get something locally?

Praying for her safe return.

The circumstances of disappearance seem really unusual (230am w her backpack).

She didn't want to go to high school. Her mother posted about it on NextDoor.

Great news. Maybe there should be a support group for this. My kid wasn't eager either today for his first day. Thankfully it went OK.

A lot of boxes have to be ticked to qualify for an Amber Alert. I believe she was classified as a runaway, not an abduction, and was not thought to be in immediate danger- therefore no alert.

Below are the criteria for an Amber Alert straight for the state form. One of the main things to realize here is that in the Brazos Valley is there is a nonprofit organization called the Amber Alert Network of the Brazos Valley that is set up to help find the missing. Even if a kid is a "runaway" they treat all kids who aren't home as missing. People think when AANBV post a kid that it qualifies as an Amber Alert when it does not. As you can see below there is specific requirements needed for an alert to be sent to phones and billboards.
