What's going on with Taco Casa? They closing for good? Down for just a while until A/C is fixed? I need to know cause I want some tacos!!!

It's my quick drive through taco grab and them being closed stinks! It's throwing off my lunch routine!!!

They said it was temporary but we all suspected it would be permanent.

I know that WD 40 is good for many things but never heard about them being good on Mexican food.

If Taco Casa is indeed done, Pepes would be wise to try to take over and revamp a more modern Pepes concept there. I've always thought south College Station would be a great spot for more affordable taco fare.

I lived near Pepe's when in school. I love Pepe's but I work south College Station so grabbing lunch there is not in the cards.

HAHA I wasn't referring to mexican food when mentioning wd-40. I call William D. Fitch Pkwy, aka TX-40, WD-40.

A few years back, Jesse tried to open a second location in the Kroger center at Rock Prairie/6. The request was denied because there is already a "Mexican" restaurant in that location. They were referring to Freebirds.

Jesse told me it was the shopping center's management.

Pretty standard that there would be a restriction in Freebirds lease preventing landlord from signing a lease with a taco/mexican food.

Pepe's could do well there, however I am sure they would not be able to keep the pricing structure the same due to the higher cost of the area. I would think it could be difficult for a local taco place to make it there with the overhead.

To some, those are way too far to drive and would involve an overnight stay.

Yole's is very good. My only two gripes with them vs. the location on Barron is, no medium green hot sauce (amazing) and Barron's tortillas are slightly better - lighter and fluffier....

That said we go to Yole's all the time because it's closer.
