Unrelated to today's activities, my son and I have been talking about renewing my CCL and him getting his.

We really can't do it except for a weekend and trying to get our schedules together.

Any local suggestions ?

Would like to do it all in one day as far as the range and classroom.

TIA

No longer a requirement for CC license in the State of Texas for open or concealed carry. They are still offered for those that want one to avoid background check when buying a firearm or when you travel to other states that have a reciprocal agreement with Texas to carry a firearm. Champion offers classes for concealed carry.

If your CHL is still valid, you do not need to take the renewal class anymore. The legislature did away with that years ago. Just go online and renew.

I do suggest your son get the license. If you're doing constitutional carry, simple gun buster signs must be respected. With the LTC, you only need to watch for the 30.06 & 30.07 signs.

And you get reciprocity in a ton of other states.

And you can bypass the NICS check when you buy a firearm from an FFL.

I took online class which was watching a couple of videos and taking a test. Did the proficiency shooting with Savage Outdoors. He was easy to schedule with and great to work with.
