https://www.tshaonline.org/handbook/entries/wixon-valley-tx"Wixon Valley is at the intersection of U.S. Highway 190 and Farm Road 2776, four miles northeast of Bryan in northeastern Brazos County. The Wickson family settled in the area in the 1840s, giving their name to nearby Wickson Creek. Wixon Valley, which is probably a variant of Wickson, grew up as a suburb of Bryan in the mid-1980s. The community was incorporated around 1988, and it had a population of 186 in 1990. The population reached 235 in 2000."
https://www.tshaonline.org/handbook/entries/wickson-creek"Wickson Creek rises 1 miles northwest of Tabor in central Brazos County (at 3050' N, 9622' W) and runs southeast for twenty-four miles before reaching the Navasota River (at 3036' N, 9610' W), which serves as the boundary line between Brazos and Grimes counties. Wickson Creek flows through flat terrain with local shallow dissections. Vegetation consists primarily of live oak, mesquite, and hackberry, with some grasses, in soil composed of clay and sandy loams. The creek derives its name from the Wickson family, who were among the original settlers of Brazos County. Prominent in the family was Byrum Wickson, who was involved in a sizable land transfer with Henry G. Hudson, another pioneer of the area, in March of 1843."
