For those of you who prefer getting out of town on big traffic weekends, where do you go?

Is there anywhere that tends to empty out on big football or graduation weekends that might appreciate the business? Are the state parks any less crowded typically?

If you can't find something to do within about a 2 hour drive of here ...

I hear some folks like to escape to Austin, but it upsets a lot of folks. For good reason. And it's for GOOD, not just the weekend.

On a more serious note though, we like Galveston / Bolivar for a weekend trip. They have 3 and 4 day cruises out of Galveston as well, and they're not crazy expensive. We've done them for long weekends before, and doing one for Thanksgiving this year.

Fair questions. 30's no kids yet.
It's not that I can't think of anything to do, it's that everyone else is thinking of the same stuff as me so it's still crowded. I'm hoping for less obvious possibilities.
