Saw them heading north on 6 out near the speedway area, then on Wellborn near Kyle Field headed south.

This is like the 3rd or 4th police "chase" here in the last week.

Maybe there's a correlation with the summer months.

Its the humidity....it brings the 'heat'.

Sounds like he may have something in the car to dispose of. It did originate south of BCS. Perhaps making a drop or such.

I'm guessing it was this one:

Stolen vehicle.

Interesting to note the two UPD vehicles not (actively) joining the chase.

Was it out of their jurisdiction? Maybe they're just standing out of the way but ready to assist if needed.

I'm sure it was the latter. According to the story, there were already 5 agencies involved in the pursuit - Grimes County SO, Navasota PD, DPS, CSPD, and Brazos County SO. So no need to re-enact to final chase scene from Blues Brothers.

But they'll hang out in the general vicinity in case the suspect bails and makes it a foot pursuit.

I think that, to be very honest with you, I do believe that we should have rightly believed, but we certainly believe that certain issues are just settled.

UPD has jurisdiction everywhere TAMU has a presence. That's like 244 counties or something.

Correct. By the Education Code, A&M PD (that includes all schools in the System) have jurisdiction in any county where the A&M System owns or leases property. Which is pretty much all of them, except I think the one that's like 99% King Ranch.

Which is why a Prairie View A&M PD officer got into a shooting incident a couple years back in Navasota - he was looking for Sumdood who had been a bad boy on their campus.
