What needed to be asked here is will the "day surgery center" be charging hospital outpatient rates (higher) or ASC rates (lower). I suspect the former, since the distance from the main hospital is close enough that it qualifies as part of the hospital for Medicare and insurance rules. I legitimately don't know the answer however- anyone with insight?
