I'm making daily pilgrimages from Rock Prairie to tower point to see the progress.

came here to say this. it's very meta of them.Another Doug said:
The best part of that image is that the water tower itself is on it.

Perhaps a Whataburger should go on the Whata Tower. The Brazos Kid said:EliteElectric said:aggiepaintrain said:

Still a better look than the "water-filled bagel".

waterworks (my old boss) used to describe water towers as "a paper towel holder with a bagel on top." So maybe the bagel color was his idea (joking, it wasn't).The Brazos Kid said:EliteElectric said:aggiepaintrain said:

Now imagine all of those are LED strips that can be controlled to display the different landmarks from the skyline and all of the proposed slogans over the past few years.
Boom.

Seems like the paint job for the Rock Prairie water tower was never completed. Tan on top, primer/unfinished grey "panels" on the bottom.
The lower portion of the new Rock Prairie tower is concrete and not painted, nor will it be. This saves dramatically compared to painted steel like the older Tower Point water tower being worked on now.

I'm assuming that the concrete pillar will need pressure washing every few years but probably cheaper than a paint job?

For $2 million dollars, it better look good.

A mural of the anticlimactic College Station skyline is the best y'all could come up with ???
Looks like the design part of the budget was left off and someone's friend of a friend got the graphics job or the folks who designed the state flags of Delaware, Pennsylvania and Idaho were brought in as design consultants.
It looks more like a high school bumper sticker of the 1990's.
Even a simple maroon background with a big ol' COLLEGE STATION in white or just a plain solid color, would look more dope than some complex chaotic shadow of a skyline that looks not much different than any other small city.
(Face palm)

I liked it too. Plus it could save use on our hot water heaters.
