Have not had a need for a doctor since moving up here 18 months ago, but work is telling me I have to have physical on file to keep my premiums down. Anyone recommend someone her in BCS?

Lots of places. I like Dr Barrow at BSW, but he no longer accepts my insurance.

So we are switching to Dr Damian at St Joseph, but it's a several month wait for initial new patient appointment, then schedule for physical or med apps after it.

Dr Karpac is also really good, but when we looked at switching to her, we were told her next available for a new patient was mid to late 2025.

Best thing to do is just call around and see who is accepting new patients in a reasonable time frame.

Either Drs. Arthur Lew or Wendy Tran. They are in the same office off of Rock Prarie.

Thanks everyone for the names, I visit with two other doctors that are "specialist" but they would not allow it to qualify at BCBS.

Be prepared for the "Yes we accept new patients. The next available new patient appointment is in 6 months" line.

Just for reference- none are GPs (general practitioners). That's a term reserved for a physician who did a 1 year rotating internship and then "hung up a shingle". While legal- and not uncommon in the past - most hospitals and insurance companies require an accredited residency to be completed for the granting of privileges. Most of the mentioned physicians are either Family Medicine or Internal Medicine residency grads who completed at least 3 yr of post medical school training. We had some GPs in the BV until the 2000s but none now that I'm aware of.
