Any advice or opinions appreciated on $90 rise in rates, both home, contents and car included. Am 53 year member (!) and for first time am considering going to other providers. Any suggestions welcome.
This. I dropped them years ago. I used to do everything with them. Now, nothing.Bonfire97 said:
USAA used to be great but has gone to crap. Had them for 20 years. Dropped them last year and went to Germania.

OP said rate went up $90
Had Amica for years. They were competitive and great customer service, then started changing coverage. Dropped them when they went to 2% deductible on wind & hail and actual cash value on roofs.cs69ag said:
I have been with USAA since 1968. Been thinking of making a change.
Home Ins has doubled over last 2 yrs. Have always had great claims service,
but sounds like that is not as good as it used to be.
Has anyone used Amica?
I was able to cash out my SSA account when I left employment at USAA. Former employees cannot have SSA accounts, but current employees did (at the time I left 2001).Aggie@state.gov said:
If you are a primary member (you served), you have a Subscriber Savings Account that has a balance that grows every year. It goes up when they allocate earnings to the member accounts, its how USAA is structured as a reciprocal insurance exchange. You can't get it out unless you cancel all your insurance products.
Once a year, they send you usually by email, your subscriber balance and how much they add to it.
If you are a member because your dad served - never mind - you don't have a SSA account.

I've only ever had USAA insurance, and I wouldn't trade them for the world.
I've never had one problem or issue with them. I have Home and auto.
