Oh lol. Oops!

I honestly don't even remember. The Germania is actually through an agent from back home (Midland area), but our TFB is through the Bryan office (you have to go through the office foe your county/city- there is one for College Station too)
. Thank you!

Can anyone tell me about their experience with Progressive Auto Insurance? I'm hesitant to move forward with them but their rates are SO MUCH lower than everyone else. Why is that?

From the repair side of things, Progressive is not too bad. There are better ones such as Farm Bureau and Ag Workers. Progressive is one of the few who still have adjusters. My Safeco was still cheaper than Progressive the last time Liere did a comparison for me.

Just expect your rate to jump about 30-40% after initial premium. That's what they do go super cheap to get you on board then hope you won't leave after huge rate increase at renewal time.

Yeah. Progressive hit us with a 750 increase when we looked to renew that one.

Had usaa for years. They got sloppy and expensive. Switched to Progressive about 8 months ago. Then jumped to TFB 2 months ago after progressives insane rate hike.

I have farmer's and Frank LaBarbera is my agent. I've been with them for almost 30 years.

I had Leire give me a quote a few years ago but they couldn't beat what I was paying.
I have been with Frank for 21 years, myself. When I wanted a better price a few years ago, I asked him what he could do for me because I was looking around. He beat the quotes that I had gotten, as well.

Also, I filed a claim back in 2020 due to a hail storm. No issues and prompt payment.
I've been with Frank for over 20 years as well and just got an email that I've been assigned a new Farmer's agent. From what I can tell, Frank has moved to a new agency but I don't know anything about them. Guess it's time for me to start shopping around which given the $1300/6 months it costs me to insure my wife's 9 year old car that's worth about 15% now of what it cost when we bought it new I've been wanting to do anyway.
Got the same email, along with a renewal notice that my rates are up 65% on my home! Been with Farmers almost 20 years, never had a single claim. Absolutely insane.

Will look into the recommendations on this thread. Might be the end of Farmers for me.

Friendly reminder: If you want an objective insurance agent who is highly skilled at their craft, is equipped with the full reach of the modern free market, will ensure you don't hollow out coverage in a game-playing effort to squeeze out a few pennies, and will give you their personal cell phone number for anything that could pop-up... Rollo Insurance Group is your first and last call.

Big corporate plays shell games with insurance coverage, limits, sub-limits, exclusions, and price. Rollo Insurance is NOT big corporate. They do old-school relationships, personal accessibility, and almost limitless capabilities.

Justin Van Norman with Texas Farm Bureau is absolutely great. Rates saved us hundreds if not thousands when we switched from our previous provider and he has personally answered the phone and helped us when we've needed to make claims.

I have been with Ag Workers since 1975 and have had numerous hail and non-insured driver claims and never had an issue getting repairs made or vehicles paid for. In the past we always received from 15 to 30% or more rebate each year. Last year due to claim volume, the could not give a rebate at all and raised their rates somewhat. They even suggested we shop around.

I did go to three different agents in town, two mentioned on here, and all three were higher than the increased rate that Ag Workers quoted me. Agworkers did say that they might be able to start giving rebates next year if claims are down.

If you have any connection to Ag, acreage ownership, ag degree by you or spouse, etc. you might consider call Ag Workers Mutual in Ft Worth. The only negative to them is that they don't insure high performance vehicles and no convertibles.
